Services for Mrs. Alsena Smith, 79, who died in Humboldt County Memorial Hospital Tuesday, April 13, were at 11 a.m. Saturday at Kastler-Babcock-DeYoung Funeral Home with burial in the LuVerne Cemetery.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Roy Boelman, Meservey; Mrs. Milo Smith, Eagle Grove; one grandchild and three great-grandchildren; brothers: Parkie Walkner, Marion and Harold Walkner, Rockwell; and sisters, Mrs. Gladys Aske, Mrs. Gayla Schisel and Mrs. Mae Hugo.

OBITUARY

Alsena Frances Smith was born November 30, 1896, at Renwick, Iowa, the daughter of George and Katie Baumgartner Walkner.

She attended a rural school near Renwick.

She was united in marriage to LeRoy Smith on October 26, 1915, at LuVerne. The couple farmed in the Humboldt County area, Winnebago County, and Cerro Gordo County, before retiring to Livermore, for 11 years. After her husband's death in 1966, she moved to Meservey, Ia.

Mrs. Smith died at the Humboldt Hospital on Tuesday, April 13, at the age of 79 years, four months, and 13 days.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother, one sister and two daughters.

She is survived by two daughters: Sylvia, Mrs. Roy Boelman, Meservey; Izola, Mrs. Milo Smith, Eagle Grove; one grandchild, Mrs. Victor Streeby; and three great-grandchildren.

Also, three sisters, Mrs. Gladys Aske, Garner; Mrs. Gayla Schisel, Garner; Mrs. Mae Hugo, Mason City; and two brothers, Parkie Walkner, Marion and Harold Walkner, Rockwell.

Funeral services, were 11 a.m. Saturday, April 17 at the Kastler-Babcock-DeYoung Funeral Home, Eagle Grove. Rev. Donald Glazier officiated and burial was in the LuVerne Cemetery, LuVerne, Iowa.
