Funeral services for Mrs. Ira (Ted) Meyer were held on Thursday morning at ten-thirty from the Chapel of the Eyler-Willim Funeral Home in Clarion. Rev. Oliver E. Johnson, pastor of First Lutheran Church, officiated and burial was in Evergreen Cemetery.

Wayne Ebert was the organist and the vocal selections were by Mrs. Lawrence Espe. Casket bearers were Vernon and Gene Elston, Dick Ballentine, Virgil Meyer and Orville and John Luppes.

Mrs. Meyer died on Tuesday, August 22, 1978 at the Community Hospital in Clarion where she had been a patient for the past several weeks.

Mildred E. Ellston was born on December 7, 1903 in Story County and was the daughter of the late Edward and Anna Johnson Ellston. She grew to womanhood in Wright County and taught school before her marriage to Mr. Meyer on December 26, 1925 at Clarion. The couple farmed for many years before moving to town.

She is survived by her husband, three daughters Mrs. Jack (Levetta) Tillman and Mrs. Bill (Shirley) Schultz, both of Clarion, Mrs. Kevin (Marjorie) McCarthy of Cupertino, Calif. and three sons: John of Clarion, Richard of Gowrie and Gary of LeMars. She is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, a brother, Gerald Ellston of Campbellsville, Ky. and a sister, Mrs. Inez Ihms of Ottumwa.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Raymond and a granddaughter.

Mrs. Meyer enjoyed a Bible Study group, a neighborhood club and the Senior Citizens.
