Funeral services for Ira (Tim) Meyer were held Saturday afternoon, November 10, 1979 at 1:30 p.m. at the Chapel of the Eyler-Willim Funeral Home in Clarion. Rev. Oliver E. Johnson, pastor of the First Lutheran Church, officiated and interment was in Evergreen cemetery.

Wayne Ebert was the organist and vocal selections, “The Old Rugged Cross” and “How Great Thou Art” were sung by Mrs. Wayne Ebert.

Pall bearers were Orville and John Luppes, Dick Ballantine, Kenneth Kuehnast, Vernon and Gene Elston.

Mr. Meyer passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 7, 1979 at St. Joseph’s Mercy Hospital in Mason City where he had been a patient for one week.

Ira (Tim) Meyer, was born on November 6, 1901 north of Blairsburg, the son of John and Bertha Larson Meyer. He attended rural schools in the Blairsburg community.

On December 26, 1925 he was united in marriage with Mildred E. Elston. The couple farmed for many years in Wright County area before moving to Clarion. His wife preceded him in death August 22, 1978.

He is survived by his present wife, Inez, three daughters, Mrs. Jack (Levetta) Tillman and Mrs. Bill (Shirley) Schultz of Clarion, Mrs. Kevin (Marjorie) McCarthy of Cupertino, California and two sons, John of Clarion and Richard of Gowrie, 21 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren, a sister, Mrs. Glen (Mabel) Finch, Clarion and a brother, Ralph Meyer of Clearwater, Florida.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, son, Gary, two brothers and two sisters.
