Evelyn Jane Smith Draker

Evelyn Jane Draker, 75, of Oelwein, died Friday, Oct. 5, 2007 at Allen Hospital, Waterloo, following a brief illness.

She was born July 8, 1932, on her grandparent's farm near Wadena, daughter of Floyd F. and Gladys L. Hummel Smith. She married Joseph "Joe" Draker in September 1952. He preceded her in death.

Mrs. Draker helped with Draker Trucking Co. and was manager of country clubs in Eagle Grove, West Liberty, Vinton and Winthrop. She was awarded the 1988 Iowa Golf Association Manager of the Year.

Survivors include: two daughters, Janet (Randy) Ladeburg of Oelwein and Janie (Esteban) Draker-Falcon of Hazleton; six grandchildren, Missy (Neil) Jeanes, Ryan (Kari) Ladeburg and Cody (Robin Pont) Pattison, all of Oelwein, Joshua (Erin) Pattison of Maynard, and Colton Pullin and Courtnee Pullin, both of Hazleton; four great-grandchildren, Carley Jo Jeanes, Carsen Randal Jeanes, Carter Lee Jeanes and Tucker Joseph Ladeburg, with two more expected; a brother, Stanley "Stan" (Phyllis) Smith of West Union; and nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by: two infant daughters; and her parents.

Memorial visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Geilenfeld Funeral Home, Oelwein.

Memorial fund: has been established.

Evelyn's family was the most important thing to her and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy.
