Memorial services for former resident
There will be memorial services for Mrs. Helen Nielsen Johnson at the Eagle Grove Evangelical Lutheran Church, Thursday, Nov. 29 at 1:30 p.m. She passed away Nov. 16 in St. Paul. Memorial services were held in St. Paul, Minn. Nov. 20.

Helen Carrie Nielsen was born October 9, 1909 on her parent's farm in Head Grove, Woolstock township. She was baptized and confirmed in the Eagle Grove Evangelical Church. She attended the Head Grove grade school and graduated from the Eagle Grove High School in 1926. She then attended Des Moines University and was subsequently employed in Des Moines by the Holly Co. and Crescent Chevrolet Co. In 1935 she moved to Minneapolis, Minn., and on November 17 of that
year she was married to Robert W. Johnson of that city, also formerly of Eagle Grove.

She participated in various civic and church activities, including secretary North Heights Lutheran church, five years of volunteer work in the visiting clergy office of St. Joseph's hospital, St. Paul, and secretary, Public Relations office and vice commander of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary, St. Paul.

She is survived by her husband, Robert; her niece, Mary Ann Kunert, whom they raised, of Stillwater, Minn.; a sister, Alice Sebby of Clarion; a brother, Morse Nielsen of Eagle Grove; and a brother, Raymond Nielsen of Clearwater, Fla.
