October 31, 1827 --- December 18, 1918

The death of Mrs. Lars Tutland occurred last Wednesday morning, December 18, 1918, at her home on North Wright St., at the age of 91 years. Her death came after an illness for a number of years being bed fast for over a year. The funeral services were held at the West Side Lutheran church, Friday afternoon, December 20th.

Mrs. Tutland was born in Norway October 31, 1827, and came to this country 53 years ago and settled in Lee county, Illinois, where she lived until the year of 1893, when she moved to Iowa and settled in Wright county and lived on a farm till 18 years ago, when she moved to Eagle Grove.

Those surviving are her husband and three daughters, Mrs. Ole Hall of Clare, Ill., Mrs. Frank Matthall [Matthaei] of Salem, S. Dak. and Mrs. H. C. Hill of this city. One daughter, Mrs. E. Thompson died 3 years ago and two children died in infancy. One aged sister, Mrs. Margaret Askvig, who lives north of town, also survives, besides 29 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. The children were all here to attend the funeral and one grandson, Henry Hall from Clare, Ill.
