Mrs. E. S. Cleveland died at the Lawrence Kirkpatrick home at Clarion on Thursday evening, Mrs. Cleveland, who is a pioneer resident of this community, has made her home with the Kirkpatrick family for the past year due to failing health.

Funeral services were held at the Baptist church on Sunday afternoon and were conducted by Rev. and Mrs. I. D. Halvorsen. Burial was held at the Glenwood cemetery.

Obituary
Adaline [Adeline] P. Adams, daughter of G. W. and Sarah Adams was born in Green county, Wis., May 2, 1849. On March 14, 1869 she was united in marriage with Elden S. Cleveland, also of Green county, Wis. Ten children were born to bless this union, one daughter passing away in infancy, and one daughter, Eveline, passing at the age of two years. Two sons, George and Wilmer also preceded their mother in death. George passing away March 4 [2], 1912 [1913] and Wilmer in June 1918.The other children, Charles and Arthur of Goldfield, Allen of Spring Valley, Minn., Harry of Bath Gate, N. D., Walter of Renwick, Iowa and Mrs. Ellen Cronk of Goldfield, along with thirty grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren, and hosts of friends mourn her departure.

Mr. and Mrs. Cleveland came to Iowa in 1872 and lived on a farm in Hardin county. They moved to Wright county in 1874 and lived in Dayton township until 1877 when they moved to Lake township where they lived on a farm until 1910 when they moved to Clarion where Mr. Cleveland passed away August 14, 1916. Mrs. Cleveland remained in Clarion until 1921 when she moved to Goldfield where she made her home until the time of her death, which occurred on the 4th day of January 1934.

Relatives from out of town who attended the services were: Allen Cleveland of Spring Valley, Minn., Harry Cleveland of Bathgate, S. D., Mrs. Francis Cleveland of Buffalo Center, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Rice of Renwick and Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Kirkpatrick and Mrs. J. Adams of Clarion.
