Mrs. Fred Knight Rites Sunday

Funeral services were held for Mrs. Fredrick Knight, 72, at the Goldfield Methodist church Sunday at 2:30 with Rev. Howard Machlan officiating. Burial was in the Goldfield cemetery.

Mrs. Knight died Friday at the Sisson Nursing home in Humboldt after a lingering illness; Her husband died last May. They lived for many years on their farm north of Holmes. Surviving are her two daughters and two sons, Orlin at home, Lynden of Dows, Mrs. Avis Huffman of Des Moines; and Mrs. Richard Campbell of Clarion.

Others are, two brothers and two sisters, Howard Vest of Dakota City, Warren Vest and Mrs. Ethel Reichter of Goldfield and Mrs. William Clements of Portland, Ore.

Obituary

Mabel Margaret Vest was born Eldon and Virginia Vest in Wright county near Goldfield on July 2nd, 1887. She died at the Sisson Nursing home in Humboldt Jan. 29th at the age of 72 years, 6 months, 27 days.

Site spent her entire life within a radius of a few miles of her birthplace. She graduated from Goldfield High School and taught in the rural school for one year.

On Jan 20, 1909 she was united in marriage to Fred Knight. To this union were born four children two boys and two girls. They spent their entire married life on one farm.

She professed her faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as her Saviour and was baptized in infancy in the Goldfield Methodist church.

She will be remembered as a kind loving wife and mother; and a friend ever willing to help when needed. She was preceded in death by her husband last May.

Those left to mourn are, her four children Orlin and Ilene of Clarion, Avis of Des Moines and Lyden of Dows; nine grandchildren; two sisters and two brothers: Mrs. Lenna Clements of Portland, Ore.; Mrs. Ethel Reichter and Warren Vest of Goldfield and Howard Vest of Dakota City.

Final rites were held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. in the Goldfield Methodist church with the pastor Rev. J. Howard Machlan in charge. Interment was in the Goldfield cemetery.
