Nina Dye Knight, longtime resident of Story, Hamilton and Wright Counties died July 6th at the Askvig nursing home at Eagle Grove. She had been in failing health for several years, but suffered a stroke.

Funeral services were held July 10th at the Kastler Funeral Home, Eagle Grove, with the Rev. Roy Cox officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Nina Dye, daughter of Jacob and Harriett Dye, was born Aug. 23, 1871 on a farm in Story County, near Colo. When she was a child her parents moved to a farm in Hamilton County near Homer. She received her education in that community. After Nina was a young lady, her parents, Henry and Harriett Dally moved to Webster City. Nina was united in marriage Jan. 1894 to John Knight, of Eagle Grove. John was a conductor on the C. & N.W. R.R. with his division at Eagle Grove, where they lived even after John had retired.

Mrs. Knight is survived by her son Ronald Knight of Santa Cruz, Calif., three half sisters, Mrs. William (Mabel) Halsey of LaJolla, Calif.; Mrs. G. Farish (Ora) Jones of LaJolla, Calif.; Mrs. Jesse (Gladys) Bunker of Billings, Mont. Nina was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers: William H. Dye of Arkansas; George E. Dye of Webster City; Mrs. Jake Spangle of Webster City, Mrs. William Thornton of Ames, a half sister, Mrs. Herbert Minkler of Colorado Springs, Colo.; one half brother, LeRoy Dally of Homer, who died in infancy.
