MRS. CLARENCE GUILD

Mrs. Clarence Guild (Esther), 68, died Sunday evening at St. Marys Hospital, Rochester.

She resided at 1006 12th Ave. SW, and is survived by her husband; five daughters, Mrs. Albert Burkhart (Minnie), Belle Vernon, Pa., Miss Esther Guild, Chicago, Mrs. Ben Ingold (Alice), Corpus Christi, Tex., Mrs. Evelyn Escover, White Plaines, N. M., Mrs. Charles Jahren (Ida), Austin; four sons, Henry, Minneapolis, Ralph of Omaha, Neb., Calvin of Denver, Colo., Lawrence of Austin; one brother, Dewey Corwin, Clarion, Iowa; 13 grandchildren.

The time of service Wednesday will be announced later by the Jordan Mortuary.

Esther Hope Guild, daughter of Ernest and Minnie Knight Corwin, was born in Wright County, Iowa, July 18, 1893, and passed away at St. Marys Hospital, Rochester, the evening of July 30, 1961, after an illness of three weeks.

As a young girl, she attended the schools in Wright County. She was untied in marriage with Clarence C. Guild, June 23, 1920, at Goldfield, Iowa. She resided at Clarion and Mason City, Iowa, before coming to Austin 36 years ago, and at the time of her death, she resided at 1006 12th Ave. SW.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Aug. 2, 1961, at 1:30 p.m. at Jordan Mortuary Chapel, Dr. John Magyar officiating. Interment was at Evergreen Cemetery, Clarion, Iowa.

Mrs. Guild is survived by her husband, Clarence; five daughters, Mrs. Albert Burkhart (Minnie), Belle Vernon, Pa., Miss Esther Guild, Chicago, Mrs. Ben Ingold (Alice), Corpus Christi, Tex., Mrs. Evelyn Escover, Las Cruces, N. M., Mrs. Charles Jahren (Ida), Austin; four sons, Henry, Minneapolis, Ralph, Omaha, Neb., Calvin, Denver, Colo., Lawrence, Austin; one brother, Dewey Corwin, Clarion, Iowa; 13 grandchildren.

One precious to our heart is gone. The voice we loved is still. A place is vacant in our home, can never more be filled. For God has in his wisdom called to death the life that he has given, one thing on earth the body hers, the soul is safe in Heaven.

All of Mrs. Guild’s children were in attendance at the services. Others attending from out-of-town included her brother, Dewey Corwin, Clarion, Iowa; Mrs. Nina Corwin, Grand Junction, Iowa; Herman Heiden, Dows, Iowa.
