Clarion Native Dies at Austin Minn.

Clarence Calvin Guild, son of George and Sophia Hawkins Guild, was born on July 21, 1887 in Sherburn County, Minnesota, and died at Burr Oak Manor, Austin, Minn, on Sunday, June 10, 1979.

Clarence served in the U.S. Army during the first World War.

He was united in marriage to Esther Corwin on June 23, 1920 at Goldfield, Iowa. They lived in Clarion, Mason City, Iowa and Park Rapids, Minnesota before moving to Austin, where he has resided since 1925. While living in Austin, Clarence was employed by Geo. A Hormel Co. until his retirement.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, June 13, 1979 at the Clasen-Jordan Chapel in Austin with the Reverend Robert A. Morgan officiating. Interment was at Evergreen Cemetery, Clarion, Iowa.

Mr. Guild is survived by four daughters, Mrs. A. J. (Minnie) Burkhart, Belle Vernon, Pennsylvania; Mrs. Ben (Alice) Ingold, Monmouth, Illinois; Mrs. Charles (Ida) Jahren, Austin, Minnesota; Mrs. C. J. (Evelyn) Richards, Calhoun, Louisiana, three sons, Henry Guild, Bloomington, Minn., Calvin Guild, Houston, Texas, and Lawrence Guild of Austin, Minnesota, 17 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Mr. Guild was preceded in death by his wife, Esther, a daughter, Esther Louise Guild and a son, Ralph E. Guild.
