January 15, 1830 --- October 11, 1890

DIED.

CORWIN. – At his home in Dayton township, October 11, 1890, of paralysis, Joseph Albert Corwin, aged 60 years, 8 months, and 26 days.

The deceased was born in Tompkins county, New York, January 15, 1830, and while yet a boy removed with his parents to Wauconda, Lake county, Illinois, where he was married to Elizabeth Kiel March 11, 1856. In the following July he removed to Blackhawk county in this state, where he resided until May, 1881, when he removed to this county with his family. In the spring of 1887 he had a alight stroke of paralysis and another far more severe the following November, from which he so far recovered as to be able to go about his premises and occasionally visit Clarion. His health has been poor for years previous to having the first paralytic stroke, but he bore his affliction with patience and did all possible to render his family happy. For several days prior to the last stroke he had been employed in building a new barn and at the time was engaged in sawing a small board. He lived three days after this, retaining consciousness to the last.

The deceased was a devoted husband and father a true friend and good neighbor. Though not a member of any church organization he was firm believer in the christian religion, and was doubtless prepared for the change. The loss is a severe one to the mother and children and in their great bereavement they have the sympathy of all.
