DAYTON TOWNSHIP FARMER DIED SUNDAY

Ernest Corwin Succumbs After Short Illness. Was Old Resident of This County

Following a week’s illness Ernest Corwin, a Dayton township farmer, passed away at his home shortly before eleven o’clock Sunday night, death being due to cancer of the stomach. Mr. Corwin had been ailing more of less for several months past but his condition was not considered critical until a few days before his death.

Ernest Corwin was born near Waterloo, Black Hawk county, Iowa, March 18, 1864, and was therefore 58 years of age at last birthday. He came to Wright county in 1881 and for the past forty-one years made his home on his present farm in Dayton township. He was one of the largest men in the county and due to his corpulency was a retiring disposition. His wife, who was formerly Miss Minnie Knight of Lake township, preceded the husband in death some twenty years ago. The father is survived by five children, one son being deceased. They are Earl of Grand Junction, Curtis and Dewey at home, Mrs. Ruth Heiden of Wall Lake township and Mrs. Esther Guild of Clarion. Deceased also has two sisters and one brother, Mrs. Effie Mack of Grand Junction, Mrs. Bryon Oberton and Norra Corwin of this city.

Funeral services were held at the farm home Tuesday afternoon, being conducted by Rev. J. F. Jamieson of the United Presbyterian church, interment being in the Clarion Evergreen cemetery.
