Stanley Robert Baker, the son of Carl and Kathryn (McFadden) Baker, was born February 10, 1928, in Eagle Grove, Iowa. He was raised and educated in the area of his birth. He served in the United States Navy during W.W. II. On November 5, 1955, he married Mildred Irene Arnold at the United Methodist church in Eagle Grove. She preceded him in death on January 18, 1993. He worked for the Boone Valley Coop, Maudlin Construction of Webster City, Iowa, and was also employed by Land O'Lakes of Fort Dodge, retiring in 1993. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Eagle Grove. He enjoyed fishing and was a Nascar fan.

Mr. Baker died on Wednesday, March 28, 2007, at his home in Eagle Grove, at the age of 79 years.

Survivors include his daughters, Debra Stueland, and husband, Kent, of Eagle Grove, and Kathy Sosa of Clarion, son, Robert Baker of Storm Lake, Iowa, and grandchildren, Chris Stueland and Laura Baker of Clarion. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Dodie LaRue; and brother, Owen Baker.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 4, at 10:30 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Eagle Grove with Pastor David Miller officiating. Visitation was held Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Foust Funeral Home, Eagle Grove. Burial will be held in Rose Hill Cemetery in Eagle Grove. Foust Funeral Home of Eagle Grove is in charge of arrangements.
