Agnes Oletta Svensen was born on December 8, 1886, at Holmivestfold, Norway. The daughter of Anders and Otella Christensen Svensen, she was educated in Norway, and at the age of 17 came to America to live with an uncle in Illinois.

On December 21, 1907, she was united in marriage to Lars Anderson in Illinois, and continued to reside there until coming to the Clarion, Iowa area in 1913. In 1914, they moved to North Dakota, returning to Clarion in 1922. In 1948, they moved to Eagle Grove, where Mr. Anderson died in 1963.

The marriage was blessed with 8 children, 7 of whom survive her. They are; 2 sons, Arthur Anderson, Clarion, Alfred Anderson, Eagle Grove, 5 daughters, Esther, Mrs. Julius Roseland, Eagle Grove, Marie, Mrs. Orlin Knight, Clarion, Lila, Mrs. Arthur Roseland, Eagle Grove, Margaret, Mrs. Dale Trotter and Lillian, Mrs. Larry Stevenson, Goldfield.

Also surviving are 28 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren and 3 brothers; Anton Anderson, Clarion, Siguart Svensen, Norway, and Christian Svensen, Norway, 1 sister, Karense Svensen, Norway.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 son, Albert, 3 sisters, Laura, Helga and Helan and 2 brothers.

Mrs. Anderson was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Eagle Grove.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Friday. December 22, 1967 at the Evangelical Lutheran Church at Eagle Grove with the Rev. H. W. Schiller officiating. Burial was in the Glenwood Cemetery at Goldfield.
