Frank Sawin, 52 [54], Is Found Dead in Bed
Frank Sawin, 52 [54], a resident of Ames for 25 years, was found dead in his bed at his home at 619 Seventh street about 11 a.m. Thursday. It was believed that Mr. Sawin died about 4 a.m. but the death was not noticed until 11 a.m. when a roomer at the home investigated when Mr. Sawin failed to arise Thursday morning.
Mr. Sawin had been employed by the Iowa Electric light and Power company here for about 20 years. He was a member of the local Masonic and I.O.O.F. lodges, and of the First Methodist church.
At the time of his death the son, John, was at the Y. M. C. A. company camp north of Boone and Mrs. Sawin was in Geneva, Ill., where she had gone Wednesday to attend the funeral of an aunt. Funeral arrangements were not made Thursday pending the return of Mrs. Sawin.

Frank Sawin, 54, Passes Away at Ames—Found Dead By Neighbors
Frank Sawin, 54, of Ames, Iowa, passed away at his home Thursday afternoon because of a cerebral hemorrhage. Mr. Sawin was discovered dead at about 11 o'clock p. m. when he failed to answer the telephone; it was thought he had been dead several hours when his body was found.
He is survived by his widow and one son, John besides other relatives and friends. He is a cousin of Alec Sawin and Miss Bertha Sawin of this city. Funeral services were held at Ames on Sunday with the I.O.O.F. lodge in charge. The body was brought here that afternoon where services were conducted by the Masonic Lodge. Interment was made in the Glenwood cemetery.

Frank Sawin, 54, Buried Here Sunday
The burial service for Frank Sawin, 54, of Ames, was held at the Glenwood cemetery on Sunday afternoon. Mr. Sawin died at his home at Ames on Thursday afternoon, but was home alone and his body was not found until late that evening by a roomer. Mrs. Sawin was visiting relatives in Chicago, Ill. Alex Sawin and Miss Berthal Sawin, cousins of Mr. Sawin, went to Ames Friday morning.
The funeral service was held at Ames on Sunday and was in charge of the I. O. O. F. lodge and burial service was in charge of the Goldfield Mason lodge. Mr. Sawin had visited relatives here many times and was known by many in this community.
