Elva Alice Loobey was born August 25, 1895, at Renwick, Ia. the daughter of Nathan and Mary Roberta Southwick Loobey. She received her education in the Renwick school.

She was united in marriage to Ira Warren Vest at Goldfield on October 1, 1913. The couple lived in Minnesota for four years, during which time they engaged in farming. They returned to Goldfield in 1917 and made their home there and Mr. Vest was employed by Wright County for many years before his retirement. Mr. Vest passed away in 1971 at the age of 78.

Mrs. Vest entered the Clarion Community Hospital on Wednesday, Feb. 6 and died there on Tuesday, Feb. 12 at the age of 78 years, 5 months and 17 days.

She is survived by one son, Dr. Don Vest, Goldfield; one daughter, Lois, Mrs. Vincent Saccento, Goldfield; one sister, Ocey, Mrs. Donald Loobey, Long Beach, Calif.; three grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two brothers, Hal and Verne Loobey.

Mrs. Vest was a member of the Baptist Church, and a life member of the Oakdale Chapter of the DOC.

Funeral services were held on Friday, February 15, 1974 at 2 p.m. in the United Methodist Church, Goldfield. Rev. George Den Hartog officiated and burial was in Glenwood Cemetery, Goldfield.
