Funeral services for Glen Trotter have been set for 2 p.m. Friday at the United Presbyterian Church here. Rev. Marion Blake will have charge and burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery.

Mr. Trotter, 75, died Tuesday afternoon at Mercy Hospital, Fort Dodge. He had been a patient for nine days. Having gone to the hospital with his wife who had surgery, Mr. Trotter became suddenly ill after arriving there, and Tuesday suffered a stroke.

He is survived by his wife, who is still in the hospital, two daughters, Mrs. Delmar Duitscher, Clarion; Mrs. Jerry Christensen, Goldfield; one son, Bernard of Des Moines, and three brothers, Virgil of Trona, Calif., Merle of Chicago, and Dale of Goldfield; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Glen Lyle Trotter was born on August 19, 1895 north of Goldfield and passed away Tuesday, July 27, 1971 at Mercy Hospital in Fort Dodge, after reaching the age of 75 years, 11 months and 8 days.

His parents were Edith Field and George Trotter.

He was united in marriage to Bessie Ruth McCutcheon on November 24, 1915 and to this union three children were born: Lucille, Mrs. Delmar Duitscher of Clarion; Bernard
of Des Moines; and Bette, Mrs. Jerry Christensen of Goldfield.

He was a member of the United Presbyterian Church in Goldfield.

His whole life has been devoted to all phases of agriculture. After retiring from farming they moved into Goldfield in 1951. He was a devoted husband and father, a respected citizen of the community, and a friend to all who knew him.

Mr. and Mrs. Trotter were hospitalized July 18, 1971, where she remains a surgical patient.

He leaves to mourn in passing his wife and three children, nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, three brothers: Virgil of Trona, Calif.; Merle of Chicago, Ill. and Dale of Goldfield.

Preceding him in death were his parents and two brothers, Rolland and Charles.

Funeral services were held 2:00 p.m.. Friday, July 30, in the United Presbyterian Church, Goldfield with Rev. Marion Blake officiating. Interment was held on the family lot in Glenwood Cemetery, Goldfield.

Mrs. Ray Mason and Steve of Estherville were Thursday visitors of Mrs. Lucille Field and Cletis Mitten. They were here to attend the funeral of Glen Trotter. Mrs. Field accompanied her to Estherville with them and returned home Saturday when Cletis drove to Estherville after her.
