June 17, 1923 ---- October 11, 2006

Mildred "Billie" Babcock, 83, of Eagle Grove, died on Wednesday, October 11, 2006, at the Humboldt County Memorial Hospital. Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 14, 2006, at the Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove. Burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery.

She is survived by her son, Gary L. Kubik, and his wife, Kathie, of Pottsboro, Texas; a granddaughter, Traci Kubik, of Eagle Grove; two grandsons, Anthony Kubik and his wife, Pam, of Cadiz, Kentucky; and Patrick Kubik and his wife, Julie, of Pottsboro, Texas; six great-grandchildren - Dakota, Kylee, Jake, Lexie, Gerik, and Eli; five brothers and sisters, Doris Ernst and her husband, Eugene, of Humboldt; Millie Iehl, of Eagle Grove; LeRoy Babcock, and his wife, Helen, of Eagle Grove; Alice Hill, of Humboldt; and Lou "Bub" Babcock, of Glendale, Ariz. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, Marie Brauman, Mae Johnson, and an infant sister, Beverly Jean Babcock; and one brother, Marvin Babcock.

Mildred "Billie" Babcock was born on June 17, 1923, in Wright County, Iowa, the daughter of George and Mahala (Gatliff) Babcock. She was raised and educated in Eagle Grove. She was confirmed in the First Baptist Church. She worked as a waitress most of her life and owned and operated Billie's Lounge in Eagle Grove for many years. Mildred enjoyed fishing hunting, camping, and motorcycles.

Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family. The Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove was in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the Foust Funeral Home, Eagle Grove.
