Walter Beach Funeral Held at Eagle Grove

EAGLE GROVE, April 9. – Funeral services for Walter G. Beach, 59, who died at his residence Wednesday, were held at the funeral chapel of Foll and Wilson today, in charge of the Rev. T. J. Severtson of the East Side Lutheran church. Burial was made in Goldfield, with service by the Rev. Mr. Handy of the Methodist church.

Former Goldfield Man Died at Eagle Grove

GOLDFIELD, Iowa, April 11— Walter G. Beach, 59 years old, a resident of this vicinity until several years ago passed away at Eagle Grove Wednesday evening, He had been in poor health for the past several years.

Funeral services were held at the Methodist church here at 2 o'clock on Saturday afternoon with Rev. W. S. Handy in charge, Burial was made in the Glenwood Cemetery.

Walter Beach Dies at Eagle Grove

Walter Beach died at the home of Mrs. Sina Roseland at Eagle Grove last Wednesday evening. Mr. Beach has been in failing health for the past year and his condition has been critical the past month. The Beach family had lived here for many years and had moved to Eagle Grove about four years ago.

Funeral services were held at the Methodist church here and were conducted by Rev. Handy. Burial service was held at the Glenwood cemetery.

Obituary of Walter Giles Beach

Walter Beach was born in Linn [Lyn] county, Ontario, Canada on Jan. 29, 1873, and died on April 6, 1932, at Eagle Grove, Iowa.

When four years of age he came to Dows, Iowa, to live with an aunt after the death of his mother. At 14 years of age he returned to Canada, his father having married again and wanting his son at home.

Walter stayed in Canada for a very few years and then returned to Dows.

On Dec. 21, 1898, he was married to Jessie Field. The young couple lived in Dows for one year then moved to the Goldfield community, which was their home until three years ago when they moved to Eagle Grove. Four children were born to them, three of whom with the mother remain to mourn the passing of their father. One child, Alton, died in infancy. Those living are: Mrs. Geo. Mallow of Osage, Iowa, Blake Beach, of Alden, Iowa, and Elmer Beach of Osage, Iowa.

Mr. Beach joined the Goldfield Methodist church on May 2, 1915, during the pastorate of Rev. A. J. Tritt. He retained his membership here until his death.

For the past few years he has been a confirmed invalid until his release last Wednesday.

The friends of the years join in sympathy with the family in their sorrow.

A prayer service was conducted at the Foll & Wilson funeral home in Eagle Grove by Rev. Severtson of Eagle Grove. Services were held at the M. E. church at Goldfield at 2 p. m. Saturday by the Rev. Handy.

Those present from out-of-town were: Mr. an Mrs. Dyden Stoakes of Hardwick, Minn., Fay Stoakes of Hardwick, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. Milo Beach of Dows, Maude Beach of Coulter, Dorothy Beach of Dows, Mrs. Lenny Lindstrom of Clarion, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Michel of Allison, Mr. and Mrs. Claude Taylor and son of Alden, Mr. and Mrs. Blake Beach of Alden, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Beach of Osage, Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Marrow and two sons of Osage and Wallace Field of Humboldt.
