Severt Amonson
4 April 1856 --- – 15 July 1925

Severt Amonson was born in Gjerdevik, Olen, Norway, April 4th, 1856, and died at his home near Eagle Grove, Iowa, July 15th, 1925, aged 69 years, 3 months and 9 days. He came to tho United States to Des Moines, Iowa, June 7th, 1885; from there he went to Story county and later to Wright county, Iowa, where in 1893 he was married to Miss Martha Thompson. To this union six children were born, one little girl, Anna, having passed on before him. He is now survived by his wife and five children, Martin, Miller, Omer, Mrs. Anna Johnson and Teressa.

Mr. and Mrs. Amonson have lived in this vicinity with the exception of three years when they lived near Ceylon, Minn.

Mr. Amonson was of a quiet disposition, a very good neighbor and a very kind father and husband. But for his salvation he found nothing else to trust in but in Jesus, but said he, "Jesus had to wait so long -before I would accept him wholly."

Funeral services were Friday afternoon from the home and East Side Lutheran church. Burial was in Rose Hill cemetery.
