John Amerson Dies Following A Brief Illness

Friends and neighbors were saddened by the sudden passing of John Amerson at his home northwest of Goldfield Saturday evening. Mr. Amerson was enjoying his usual good health and activities the week before he was attacked by the dreaded pneumonia. John Amerson was highly esteemed by all who knew him and will be sadly missed by sorrowing relatives and friends. He was a good man, a loving and faithful husband and father. He was a good neighbor, always ready and willing to do his part. He served as Township trustee for 12 years and 10 years as Township clerk.

Obituary

John Amerson was, born in Norway township, Humboldt county, on Jan. 5, 1881, and passed away at his farm home in Lake township, Humboldt County, Saturday evening, April 29, 1939, at the age of 58 years, 3 months and 24 days. His parents were John and Karen Amerson.

He was baptized in Christ, received instruction and confessed his Christian faith at his old home church in Norway township.

On Feb. 27, 1907, he was united in marriage to Annie Rasmussen. To this union four children were born, all of whom are living. They are: Mrs. Evelyn Nervig of Eagle Grove, Mrs. Bernice Johnson of Goldfield, Raymond and Arnold at home. He is survived by his wife, the four children, one granddaughter, Joan Johnson, four brothers, Anton of Cyrus, Minnesota, Gust and Andrew of Eagle Grove, Carl of Miller, Iowa, two sisters, Mrs. Mary Sandwick of Forest City and Mrs. W. C. Smith of Eagle Grove, besides a great many other relatives and friends. His parents, two brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at Wilson Funeral Chapel at Eagle Grove with Rev. J. R. Tumbleson in charge. Burial was made in the Glenwood cemetery at Goldfield.

John Amerson Dies Saturday

John Amerson died at his home west of town Saturday evening. Death was caused by pneumonia. Mr. Amerson has lived in this community for many years. Funeral services were held at the Wilson Funeral Home at Eagle Grove on Tuesday afternoon and burial was in Glenwood cemetery.

Andrew Amerson received word Saturday that his brother, John of near Renwick had passed away. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Wilson Funeral Chapel in Eagle Grove, in charge of Rev. Tumbleson. Burial was at Goldfield.

Hardy News

John Amerson, 58, living three and a half miles southeast of Hardy, died Saturday evening at his home following an attack of pneumonia. He leaves his wife, two daughters, and two sons: Mrs. Thos. Nervig of Eagle Grove, Mrs. John D. Johnson of Hardy, and two sons living at home.
