Died at her home in Goldfield, on Tuesday evening, the 28th of February 1899, Mrs. Sarah Bothwell.
There are many people in and about Goldfield to whom Mrs. Bothwell's death will announce the departure of an old and tried friend. She has lived in Goldfield for a number of years, and attached to herself many friends in whose memories she will ever be kindly held.
Mrs. Bothwell's maiden name was Miss Sarah Duncan. She was born in County Tyrone, in Ireland about eighty years ago. When six years of age she came to Canada, and lived there over forty years in the province of Quebec. About twenty years ago, she moved to Ontario, where she lived until she came to Iowa, where she has spent the last seven years.
About a year since, she fell on a slippery sidewalk and sustained a severe injury from which she has never fully recovered. After that accident she was unable to walk without crutches. It is probable that her fall hastened her death by several years.
She was twice married, first to Alexander McKenzie, and second to William Bothwell.
She had six sons, three of whom are still living.
Peace be to her soul in that land where sickness and death are unknown, where there is no cripple, no age and no regret for the past, but only hope throughout an eternal future.
