Disappeared Monday A. M.; Recover Body Tuesday Afternoon
(By Goldfield Correspondent)
The body of Guy Agard, well known Goldfield man who disappeared from his home early Monday morning was recovered from the Boone river about 3:45 p. m. Tuesday. Mr. Agard, 58, was in the carpenter and contracting business until several years ago when poor health caused him to give up his chosen profession.
Searchers started looking for Mr. Agard when he failed to return home Monday evening. They combed the river, but the body had become lodged in underbrush south of the Rock Island bridge and was not found until Tuesday. Mr. Agard who lost an arm in a shotgun accident some time ago had been despondent of late.
He has been a resident of this vicinity practically his lifetime and was well and favorably known in this territory. The deceased is survived by his widow and nine children: Miss Bessie and DeVere Agard of Toledo, Ohio; Mrs. Frank Kingkade of Ames; Burdette Agard of Algona; Wilbur and Kenneth Agard of Des Moines; Gerald and Leo Agard of Goldfield and Ray Agard of Gowrie.
