Obituary Of Peter Axon
Peter Axon was born in Traer, Tama County, Iowa, on October 17, 1877. His parents were John and Esther Axon. His early years were spent with his parents on the farm home. At the age of 22 he came to Goldfield and established himself on a farm southeast of town. On March 15, 1905 he was married to Rosa Steffen, also of Traer, Iowa. To them were born three children.
Mr. Axon was one of the pioneers of this community. He came here forty years ago and spent all but one-half year on the farm home. He took a keen interest in community affairs and was an active member of the Presbyterian Church.
He leaves to mourn his parting—His wife; three children, Mrs. L. E. Milota of Davenport, John of Vincent, and Roy on the home place; 3 grandchildren; 3 brothers and sister, Bert, Lee and Len, of Traer, and Mrs. Frank Henley, of West Bend.

T. McCutcheon, Miss Nina Wetzel and Miss Buelah Wetzel.
Mr. Paul Parkhouse of Traer, Mrs. Leslie Mattern of Waterloo, Miss Emily Steffen of Cedar Rapids, Miss Rudy Steffen of Eldon, Mr. and Mrs T. E. Bastion and Mrs. Walter Rossow of Fort Dodge.
Funeral services were held at the United Presbyterian church on Friday afternoon with Rev. John Haupt in charge.
Interment was in the family lot in Glenwood Cemetery

Peter Axon Buried Here Friday
Peter Axon, 62, died at his home southeast of here Wednesday, Sept. 27, after suffering for several weeks from a heart attack. Mr. Axon was one of the pioneers who came here forty years ago. He has had an active interest in community affairs and has been a member of the local United Presbyterian church for many years.
Peter Axon was born on Oct. 17, 1877, on a farm near Traer in Tama county. John and Esther Axon were his parents. His early boyhood and young manhood were spent on this farm until he was 22 years old. At that time he moved to Goldfield on a farm three miles southeast of here were he lived until several months before his death.
On March 15, 1905, he was united in marriage to Miss Rosa Steffen of Traer and to this union three children were born, Mrs. L. F. Milota of Davenport, John of Vincent and Roy who farms the home farm.
He leaves to mourn, his wife, his three children, three grandchildren, three brothers and one sister.
Funeral services were held Friday afternoon and burial was in the Goldfield cemetery.

J. McCutcheon, Miss Nina Wetzel and Paul Parkhouse all of Traer.
