Lida Veora Mason Thayer Ruiter
17 March 1891 --- 29 December 1978

Mrs. Lida Veora Ruiter, daughter of John and Eliza Chapman Mason, was born March 17, 1891, at Bloomington, Wis. On January 19, 1914, Lida was united in marriage with John Thayer at Dubuque. John died in 1971. Lida married Fred Ruiter in 1932 at Belmond. Fred died in 1955. Mrs. Ruiter died Friday, Dec. 29, 1978, at the Dows Care Center, Dows, at the age of 87.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two husbands. Survivors include: seven sons: Duane Thayer, St. Cloud, Minn.; Bernard Thayer, Cambridge, Minn.; Ray Thayer of LeMoore, Calif; Merle Thayer, Davenport, Keith Thayer, Anaheim, Calif.; Kenneth Ruiter, Iowa City; Larry Ruiter, Marshalltown; two daughters: Ferne Thayer, Fort
Dodge, Verna (Mrs. Walter) Peterson, Rochester, Minn.; 36 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Jan. 2, 1979, at 2 p.m. at the Kastler - Babcock - DeYoung Funeral Home, Eagle Grove. Dr. Lloyd Meyer officiated and burial was at Glenwood Cemetery, Goldfield.
