Frank Copp, 86, dies January 10
Funeral services for Frank Copp, 86, were held Friday afternoon at the Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. H. W. Schiller officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery. Mr. Copp died Wednesday, Jan. 10 in the Municipal Hospital at Clarinda. He had gone to Clarinda to visit his son James and family and entered the hospital on Christmas Day.

He is survived by two sons, Franklin of Eagle Grove; James of Clarinda; three daughters, Mrs. John Mabe, Pendleton, Ore.; Mrs. Wade Gardner, Oelwein; and Mrs. Lloyd Aichele, Hermiston, Ore. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Mr. Copp was a lifelong resident of Eagle Grove and had worked for the Chicago and North Western R.R. for 34 years before his retirement.

OBITUARY
Frank Copp, son of William and Margaret Cowan Copp, was born April 15, 1886 in Eagle Grove, Iowa where he later attended the public schools. On March 10, 1910 he was married to Mary Johnson in Eagle Grove and to this union three sons and four daughters were born. In 1924 he became a member of the Eagle Grove Baptist Church. Mr. Copp had farmed in the Eagle Grove area several years before being employed for thirty-four years by the Chicago Northwestern Railroad. He retired from the railroad in 1954. He had been in failing health the past several months and in December went to Clarinda, to be cared for in the home of his son, James. On December 25, 1972 he entered the Municipal Hospital in Clarinda and passed away there on Wednesday morning, January 10. He was 86 years, 8 months and 25 days of age at the time of his passing.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary, in 1961; son, Alvin in 1967; and a daughter in infancy; one brother, and three sisters. He leaves to mourn his passing two sons, Franklin of Eagle Grove, James of Clarinda; three daughters, (Elnora) Mrs. John Mabe of Pendleton, Ore.; (Mary Lois) Mrs. Wade Gardner of Oelwein; (Beverly) Mrs. Lloyd Aichele of Hermiston, Ore.; 18 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Friday, January 12, at 2:00 p.m. at the Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. H. W. Schiller officiating. Interment was held in Rose Hill Cemetery.
