Margaret Anne Cowan Copp Warner
7 July 1858 ---- 4 August 1948

Margaret Anne was born to John and Mary Cowan at Dundas, Montreal, Canada on July 7, 1858 and passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Mahala Conner of Popejoy, Iowa on August 4, 1948. At the time of her passing away, she was 93 years, 27 days of age.

Mrs. Warner grew to womanhood in the community of her birth and on January 23, 1977 she was united in marriage to William Copp at Clinton, Canada. To this union six children were born, four daughters and two sons. Jessie died in Canada at the age of three months, and Mandy, Mrs. Robert McCarty, passed away a number of years ago in Eagle Grove, and she is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Laura Moorecroft of Los Angeles and Mrs. Mahala Conner of Popejoy, the two sons, William and Frank Copp of Eagle Grove. Besides her children she is survived by 20 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She is the last of her generation, being survived by no brothers or sisters.

Mr. William Copp died in the year of 1887 and was one of the first to be buried in Rose Hill Cemetery. On November 1st, 1900 Mrs. Copp was united in marriage to Levi S. Warner, he passing away five years later. She has resided in Eagle Grove where she busied herself dress making and was fairly active until recent years. She failed rapidly during the last months of her life, but was very patient during the time of her illness.

Services were held Friday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. at Wilson's Chapel with Rev. H. G. Dawes officiating. Interment was in Rose Hill cemetery.
