Keith Carl Butz
29 March 1910 ---- 14 July 1992

Keith Carl Butz was born March 29, 1910, the son of Jonathan Lindsey and Maude Lulu Kepler Butz at Eagle Grove. He received his education in the Eagle Grove School System. He entered the United States Army April 27, 1942, at Fort Des Moines. He
served his tour of duty stationed in Northern France, Central Europe and Rhineland. He was awarded three Bronze Stars, and the Good Conduct Medal for his service to his country. He earned his honorable discharge at Jefferson Barracks, Mo., September 18, 1945, with the rank of Technician 5th Grade.

Upon returning to Eagle Grove, he went to work for the Eagle Grove Street Department until his retirement. He was a member of the Samuel Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove, the V.F.W., and the Eagle Grove Senior Citizens.

Keith Carl Butz died July 14, 1992 at the Clarion Care Center, in Clarion at the age of 82 years, three months and 15 days. He was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, Clifford, Kenneth, and Burdette. He is survived by his two sisters, Bernice Johnson, Humboldt; and Phyllis Elwood of Eagle Grove.

Funeral services were held Saturday, July 18 at the Samuel Lutheran Church with the Rev. Carlton Shaw officiating at the 11 a.m. services. Burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove. Kastler-Babcock Services, Eagle Grove, was in charge of arrangements.
