Eda M. Thomas was born in Shickley, Neb., on January 14, 1901. She was a nurse and the owner of the Lenox Care Center for many years. She was very active in the Republican Party and held many offices in Taylor County and southwest Iowa over the years. She was a longtime member of the Legion Auxiliary and Order of the Eastern Star.

Eda Thomas died Thursday, July 13, 1969 at the Rotary Ann Nursing Home, Eagle Grove, at the age of 88, after a long illness. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde E. Thomas in 1978. She is survived by a son, T. C. Thomas and his wife, Sarah, Eagle Grove; a sister, Mrs. Lula Ketchum, Carson; two grandchildren, Mrs. Martin (Teresa) Trepp, Des Moines; and Tom C. Thomas, Minneapolis, Minn.; three great-granchildren, Tyler and Meghan Trepp and Michael Thomas, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 17, at the Lenox Presbyterian Church.
