PLAN FINAL RITES FOR JOHN KERB WHO DIED SATURDAY

RENWICK— John Kerr, 73, died at his home near Renwick Saturday noon, having suffered a stroke a week ago. Funeral services will he held Tuesday (this) afternoon. 1:30 o'clock at the home and 2:30 at the Presbyterian church in Goldfield. Burial will be In Goldfield.

Mr. Kerr was born January 16, 1869, at Greenfield. Ohio. He came to this vicinity when a young man, and started farming. At the time of his death he had been on the same farm fifty years.

Surviving are his wife and four sisters, Mrs. W. H. (Beth) Rice of Cheyenne, Wyo., the Misses Rebekah and Molly Kerr of Greenfield, Ohio, and Mrs. Alice Tootle of Saginaw, Michigan. None of the four sisters will be able to attend the services.

The following relatives arrived at the Kerr home Sunday evening: Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Peck of Circleville, Ohio, Mr. and Mrs. James R. Tootle of Chillicothe. Ohio and Mrs. Jack Ingram of Saginaw, Mich.

John Kerr Services Held at Presbyterian Church in Goldfield

GOLDFIELD—Funeral services were held at the United Presbyterian church here Tuesday afternoon for John E. Kerr, 73, Wright county citizen who died Saturday. The Rev. John Haupt, pastor of the United Presbyterian church, assisted by the Rev. R. M. McCracken of Crawfordsville, former pastor ot the Goldfield Church, was in charge of services. Burial was made in the family lot at Glenwood cemetery.

John Elbert Kerr, son of William and Margaret Mary Kerr was born near Greenfield, Ohio Jan. 16, 1869. Fifty years ago came west to the farm which been his home since that time. March 6, 1907, he was married Martha Fulton Tootle of Circleville, Ohio.

He is survived by his widow and four sisters, Mollie Kerr and Rebecca Kerr, both of Greenfield Ohio, Mrs. Alice Tootle of Saginaw, Mich., and Mrs. William Rice of Cheyenne, Wyo.

He was an active member of the Goldfield United Presbyterian church and for many years the church as a trustee.

John Kerr Funeral Service Held Here

John Kerr, 78, died at his home near Renwick on Saturday following a brief illness. While Mr. Kerr lived at Renwick has always been a faithful member of the United Presbyterian church here and seldom missed a service. Services were held at the United Presbyterian church on Tuesday afternoon and burial was in the cemetery at Renwick. Rev. John Haupt conducted the service, and was assisted by Rev. R. M. McCracken of Crawfordsville.

Obituary

John Elbert Kerr, son of William and Margaret Mary Kerr, was born near Greenfield, Ross County, Ohio, January 16, 1869, and died at his home near Renwick, April 4, 1942, at the age of 73 years. His boyhood years were spent near Greenfield. Fifty years ago, as a young man, he came west to the farm which has been his home since that time.

On March 6, 1907, he was united in marriage to Martha Fulton Tootle of Circleville, Ohio. Soon after the wedding he and his bride came to their Iowa home and have continued to live in this community since that time. He and Mrs. Kerr have enjoyed together their present home for 28 years. Surviving are four sisters: Miss Mollie Kerr, Greenfield, Ohio; Miss Rebecca Kerr, Greenfield, Ohio; Mrs. Alice Tootle, Saginaw, Mich.; Mrs. William Rice, Cheyenne, Wyo. One sister, Mrs. Dora Parrett, preceded him in death.

Mr. Kerr was widely known. Beginning among the pioneers when the country was newly settled, his circle of acquaintances has grown as the years passed. Since those horse and buggy days he has been interested in, and has kept abreast of progress in all spheres of life. He has lived actively and with high standards of honor and fairness, and has stood for the better things of life during these 50 years. He was an active and helpful member of the Goldfield United Presbyterian church, and for many years served the church as a trustee.

John Kerr Rites Held Tuesday

Funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon for John Kerr, who died on Saturday noon at his home near Renwick, at the age of 73 years. He was born in Greenfield, Ohio. Mr. and Mrs. Kerr recently celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary. Mr. Kerr has farmed in Boone township over fifty years. His father, Mr. Montgomery and Mr. Martin were the first settlers in this township. He leaves to mourn his departure, his wife, four sisters, who were unable to attend the service, Mrs. Will Rice of Cheyenne, Wyo., Miss Rebecca and Molly Kerr of Greenfield, Ohio, Mrs. Alice Tootle of Saginaw, Mich.

Those from away who attended the services held in Goldfield at the Presbyterian church, and burial in the Glenwood cemetery at Goldfield were: Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Peck of Circleville, Ohio, Mr. and Mrs, James R. Tootle of Chillicothe, Ohio, and Mrs. Jack Ingram of Saginaw, Mich.
