Peter H. Baumann, son of Steven and Anna Origer Baumann, was born July 17, 1915 at Whittemore, Iowa. He graduated from the Presentation Academy at Whittemore and attended three years of college at Ames, Iowa. He serviced in the U.S. Marines from April 9, 1941 to July 25, 1941.

On Nov. 6, 1943 he was married to Rosanne Holtzbauer at Algona, Iowa. They lived in Des Moines and Eagle Grove and then to Humboldt in 1977. Rosanne died June 14, 1981.

After college Peter was an animal health supply salesman. Then he was employed with Iowa Steel and Wire Co. and was National Sales Manager when he retired. He died at his home in Humboldt, Iowa Thursday, Nov. 13, 1986 at the age of 71 years, three months and 27 days.

Surviving are children: JoAnn, Mrs. Edward Marten, Louisville, Ky., Peter John Baumann, Minneapolis, Minn.; Mary Ann, Mrs. Raymond Schiefen, Grand Island, Neb.; Edward Henry Baumann; Mission Viejo, Calif.; Paul Allan Bauman, Ransom Canyon, Texas, five grandchildren; a brother, John Baumann of Whittemore and a sisters, Grace Mathah, Clear Lake, Iowa and Molly Chambers, Des Moines, Iowa. Preceding him in death were his parents, his wife and two brothers, Mike and William.

Funeral services for Peter H. Bauman, 71, Humboldt, formerly of Whittemore, were held Monday, Nov. 17, 1986 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Cecelia's Catholic Church in Algona. Rev. Miles Barrett and Msgr. Louis Kollasch conducted the services. Burial was in Calvary cemetery at Algona.
