EAGLE GROVE — James Wingaard, 84, of Eagle Grove, died on Monday, November 11, 2019. Visitation is 3-5 p.m. Thursday, Foust Funeral Home, Eagle Grove.

James Henry Wingaard, the son of Ivan P. and Borghild Rachel Clara (Orsland) Wingaard, was born on July 23, 1935, in Iowa City, Iowa. He was raised and educated in Eagle Grove.

Jim served in the United States Army during the Korean War from January of 1953, until his honorable discharge in September of 1955. He went to Infantry School at Ft. Benning, Georgia and qualified to be a parachutist.

Jim loved his cats. He will be remembered for his kind and gentle heart and as a hidden angel.

Jim passed away on Monday, November 11, 2019, the age of 84 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Nadine Baker Winter and brother, Roger Wingaard.

Survivors include his sister, LaVonne Bige of Clear Lake and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Thursday, November 14, from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove.

Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
