Harriett Agnes Whyte was born January 15, 1910, in Goldfield, Iowa, the eldest daughter of John S. and Ruth A. Whyte. She was united with the church at an early age and was an active member, of the United Presbyterian and Methodist Churches all her life. After graduation from Goldfield High School, she attended Iowa State College. She was united in marriage with Forrest H. Bennett on December 29, 1932, in Goldfield. During her lifetime she lived with her husband and family in Tonkawa, Okla.; Sigourney, Iowa; Corwith, Iowa; and Austin, Texas. She and her husband farmed near Corwith for several years. She was active and held various offices in her church, P. E. O., and Eastern Star.

Harriett Agnes Whyte Bennett died Friday, November 13, 1998, at her residence in Wylie, Texas at the age of 88.

Survivors include two sons, Forrest H. Bennett, Jr., and Richard Bennett; one daughter, Sharon Lacy; 9 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Elizabeth Pojman and husband, Joseph; and one brother, John S. Whyte, Jr.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Forrest H. Bennett, Sr.; infant son, Scott; her parents; and one brother Robert S. Whyte.
