Former Resident Dies In California

Henry Christian, former resident of this community was buried here Tuesday afternoon. He had been living in California where he died last week. He was a brother of Chris Christensen who lives east of town.

Obituary

Henry Christensen, son of Rassie and Amanda Christensen was born on a farm in Eagle Grove township, Sept. 20, 1893. He passed away on Sept. 3, 1944, at the age of 50 years, 11 months and 12 days.

He was united in marriage to Mae Davis, May 1, 1917. To this union was born one daughter and four sons, Lincoln Christensen [unreadable] who is now in the South Pacific, Cpl. Lawrence Christensen in France, Mrs. Evelyn Mayfield of Albino, and Charles of Cedar Rapids.

He is also survived by his father, Rasmus Christensen of Omaha, Neb., one sister, Mrs. James Sorenson of Cedar Rapids, two brothers, William of Omaha, Neb., and Chris of Eagle Grove and one grandchild. His mother and one brother preceded him in death.

He was a veteran of World War I.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at Wilson's Chapel in Eagle Grove, in charge of Rev. C. W. Tompkins. Music was furnished by Mrs. Geo. DeForest and Mrs. Ethyl Shoenhair.

Burial was in the Goldfield cemetery, with the American Legion giving the grave service.
