Former Resident Of Rapid City Killed

Donald Edgar Davis, a former Rapid City resident, died Saturday at Hanford, Wash., of injuries received Tuesday while working at the E. J. duPont de Nemours company plant there. He was working on a construction job when caught between two trucks and suffered a crushed chest.

Surviving are his widow, the former Ruth Sagen, Rapid City: his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jay D. Davis, Vinton, Ia., and two sisters, Mrs. Mae Saad, Cedar Rapids. Ia., and Mrs. Mildred Bascom, Vinton.

Mrs. Davis will leave Tuesday for Eagle Grove, Ia., where funeral services will be held at the L. E. Wilson funeral home.

Services for Donald E. Davis, 30, a former resident of Cedar Rapids who died Nov. 13 at Hanford, Wash., as a result of injuries received Nov. 9 while working on a government project in Washington, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the L. E. Wilson funeral home in Eagle Grove. Burial will be in Glenwood cemetery at Goldfield.

Mr. Davis was born June 24, 1913, in Goldfield. He married Ruth B. Sagen Aug. 1, 1942, in Peoria, Ill.

Surviving Mr. Davis are his wife of Rapid City, S. D.; his father, J. Q. Davis of Brandon: his mother, Mrs. Jeanettie Davis of Vinton; two sisters, Mrs. Mae Saad, 941 Fifteenth avenue SW, and Mrs. Mildred Bascom of Vinton; and nieces and nephews.

Former Residents Funeral Held Here

Donald E. Davis, 30, former resident of Goldfield, died Saturday afternoon from injuries received while working on a government project in Hanford, Wash.

Services will be Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at Wilson's Funeral Chapel, in Eagle Grove. Rev. Harry N. Throckmorton of Eagle Grove will be in charge.

Donald Davis is survived by his wife who resides in Rapid City, So. Dak., his mother, Mrs. Janettie Davis of Vinton, his father, Jay Davis, of Brandon, and two sisters, Mrs. Mae Saad of Cedar Rapids and Mrs. Mildred Bascom of Vinton and a number of nieces and nephews. Interment will be in the Glenwood Cemetery, Goldfield.

Donald Davis, Former Goldfield Man, Dies

Eagle Grove – Donald E. Davis, 30, laborer, a former resident of Goldfield, died Saturday as a result of injuries received while he was working on a government project at Hanford, Wash.

The body was brought to the Wilson chapel, and services were to be held at that place Thursday, the Rev. Harry Throckmorton, of the Baptist church, officiating. Burial was to be in Glenwood cemetery, Goldfield.

He is survived by the wife, living in Rapid City, S. Dak.; his mother, Mrs. Janette Davis, at Vinton: his father, Jay Davis, of Brandon, and by 2 sisters, Mrs. Mae Saad, of Cedar Rapids, and Mrs. Mildred Bascom of Vinton.
