31 October 1809 --- 16 February 1887

Mr. Lacy Belknap, one of our most highly respected citizens, was stricken with paralysis during the night of the 13th; he was helpless from the first, nearly speechless, only conscious at intervals, and passed away on the morning of the 16th; he is much regretted by the whole community. His five sons were present at his home during his last hours, his daughter being unable to reach him. His funeral will be held on the 18th from the church.
