Francis (Frank) Thomas Allen was born on December 19, 1910 and hist parents were Thomas J. and Margaret Parel Allen. He attended the Webster County schools, graduated from the Corpus Christi Academy and attended Trinity College in Sioux City, Iowa. On July 3, 1935 he was united in marriage with Frances Schwendemann at Fort Dodge. The couple lived and farmed in Colfax Township in Webster County for several years. In 1945, the family moved to Fort Dodge and Frank began work
in the electric field at US Gypsum Co. and for other contractors. In 1954, started an electrical contracting business in Eagle Grove and in 1955, the family moved to Eagle Grove. Later, he worked as a driver for Umthun's Truck Line and also continued to do some electrical work.

He was a member of the Sacred Heart Church in Eagle Grove and was active in various church and
community affairs and had served on the Eagle Grove Park Commission, coached Little League baseball, was an assistant Scout Master, and he loved to garden, hunt, read and play cards, and
was writing an autobiography during the past recent weeks. He died on Wednesday morning, November 27, 1985 in Eagle Grove after suffering an apparent heart attack, at the age of 74 years, 11 months and six days.

He is survived by his wife, Frances Allen of Eagle Grove; two daughters Kay, Mrs. Clyde Thomas of Fort Dodge; Connie, Mrs. Larry Koester of Ankeny; three sons, Jay Allen of Phoenix, Ariz.; Richard of Eagle Grove; and Terry of Sioux Falls, S.D.; 14 grandchildren; three great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and two grandchildren.

Funeral services for Frank Allen, 74, of Eagle Grove, were held Saturday, Nov. 30, 1985, at 10:30 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Church in Eagle Grove Rev. Fr. John Herzog, church pastor, officiated and burial was in the Calvary Cemetery, Eagle Grove. Visitation was held Friday at the Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home and the parish scripture service was held Friday at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
