George Swanson
15 September 1886 --- 29 April 1961

George Swanson, 74, long time resident of Eagle Grove, died at the IOOF Home in Mason City, where he has been a resident for the past 2 years. Funeral services were held at Eagle Grove Evangelical Lutheran Church, Kenneth Torvik, pastor, Monday at 2:00 with interment at Rose Hill Cemetery, Kastler Funeral Home in charge. He was born Sept. 15, 1886 in Sweden and came to the United States at the age of 14 to Marathon. In recent years he made his home with his brother-in-law Ed Ryan at Eagle Grove. No close relatives survive him. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Gus and two sisters, Mrs. Alma Ryan and Ruth Swanson. Surviving are a cousin; 3 nieces and 2 nephews.
