Wilhelmina “Mina” Larson Swanson
21 January 1867 ---- 14 November 1941Mina Wilhelmina Larson was born at Naes, Svanskog, Sweden, January 21, 1867, and died at her home in Eagle Grove Thursday night, Nov. 13, 1941, at the age of 74 years, 9 months and 22 days. She was baptized unto Christ, received instruction and confessed her Christian faith in her youth.
On August 27, 1886, she was united in marriage to Nils Fredrik Swanson. In November 1897 she came to America, to Marathon, Ia., but moved to Eagle Grove soon after, and has since lived here. Mr. Swanson died here Oct. 28, 1931. One daughter, Ruth, died here Oct. 9, 1918. She is survived by two sons, George, of Eagle Grove and Gustave of Ventura, Calif., and by one daughter, Mrs. Alma Ryan of Eagle Grove; also by three grandchildren, and by one sister, Mrs. John Humphrey of Cleveland, Ohio. As far as is known she has two sisters still in Sweden. The son, Gustave, and the sister, Mrs. Humphrey, were not able to come to the service, but a daughter of the sister, Mrs. Ruth Schron of Cleveland, came.
Mrs. Swanson was a kind and loving lady, a good wife and mother, and a friendly and helpful neighbor. For quite a few years she was unable to come out, and suffered considerably. She appreciated very much the kindness.
