Mrs. Jennie Ovedia Olson, was born on August 17, 1901, at Bergen, Norway, the daughter of Peder and Martha Torres Pederson. She grew up and attended school in Norway. She came to the United States in 1924 and settled in the Eagle Grove area. On February 25, 1928, she was united in marriage with Andrew Olson. The family lived and farmed in Wright County. Mr. Olson died in 1949.

Jennie had been a resident of the Rotary Ann Home in Eagle Grove for the past several months. Mrs. Olson was a member of the Samuel Lutheran Church, the ALCW and a Church Circle.

Jennie died early Saturday morning at the Rotary Ann Home on February 13, 1982 at the age of 80 years, 5 months and 26 days.

She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Helen Casey of Ames; Mildred, Mrs. Kenneth Lofgreen of Salt Lake City, Utah; Vivian, Mrs. Robert Crandall of Eagle Grove; two sons, Alvin Olson of rural Eagle Grove; Kenneth of Eagle Grove; 13 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; a brother, Torkel Pederson of Bergen, Norway and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three sisters and four brothers.

Funeral services for Mrs. Jennie O. Olson, were held on Monday, February 15, 1982 at 2 p.m. at the Samuel Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove. Rev. Thomas Jolivette officiated and burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove. Visitation was held at the Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home on Sunday.
