G. J. PEHL, 82, DIES IN WRIGHT

Pioneer of Goldfield Vicinity Leaves Wife, Two Children.

GOLDFIELD, July 15. – George J. Pehl, 82, a pioneer of this vicinity who died at his home here Sunday evening, will be buried here Wednesday.

Mr. Pehl was born March 16, I848, in Humble, Denmark, and came to America in 1870. He first settled near Hampton and later moved to a farm in the Evergreen neighborhood southwest of here. In 1915 he moved to town.

He has been in poor health of late years but when he was able he an active man. He is survived by his wife and two children, Mrs. Laura Veldhouse, Kanawha.

Funeral services will be held at the M. E. church at 2 o'clock with the Rev. D. M. Simpson, local pastor, in charge.

GOLDFIELD

George J. Pehl, a pioneer of this vicinity, passed away at his home here Sunday evening after a long illness.

Mr. Pehl has been a resident of this vicinity for over fifty years. He was born on March 16, 1848, at Humble, Denmark, coming to this country and settling near Hampton in 1870. There he made his home until 1880, when he moved to a farm in the Evergreen neighborhood.

He lived on the farm until 1915 when he and his family moved to town where they have since resided.

He is survived by his beloved wife, who at the present writing is quite ill, and two children, a daughter, Mrs. Laura Veldhouse of Kanawha, and a son John of near Renwick. Funeral services will be held at the M. E. church on Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock with Rev. Simpson in charge. The obituary will appear next week.

George Pehl Died Monday Morning

George Pehl died at his home here early Monday morning. Mr. Pehl has been in poor health for several years and has been bedfast for several weeks.

Funeral services were held yesterday afternoon at the Methodist church with Rev. D. M. Simpson in charge.

Mr. George J. Pehl was born at Humble Langeland, Denmark March 16, 1848, and he died July 11, 1930 at the age of 82 years, 3 months and 58 days.

Mr. Pehl at the age of 21 left his native land for St. Ansgar, Iowa. Two years later in 1871 he moved to Eagle Grove and settled on a farm.

In 1881 he married Caroline Rasmussen. To this union were born three children, Laura, John and George; George preceded his father in death eleven years ago.

In 1910 Mr. Pehl and wife quit farming and moved to Goldfield, where he lived until his death.

He is survived by his wife Caroline Pehl, his daughter Mrs. Laura Veldhouse of Kanawha Iowa, and John Pehl of Renwick Iowa, besides eight grandchildren.

Mr Pehl was of a kind and amiable disposition. The last two years he has been on the invalid order. He gradually grew weaker and weaker and finally without any struggle or pain his soul returned to the Maker of all life.

Many thanks to those who visited him during his weakness and for the kind assistance offered and rendered.

Funeral services were held from the M. E. church Wednesday afternoon, Rev. D. M. Simpson in charge.
