Mrs. John B. Sheets Funeral Tuesday

Funeral services for Mrs. John B. Sheets, 78, were held Tuesday afternoon at the Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home in Eagle Grove at 2:30 p.m. Rev. Ronald Cowles of the Renwick Baptist Church officiated and burial was in Glenwood Cemetery.

Mrs. Sheets died at the Clarion Memorial Hospital.

Obituary

Ethel Paskin was born January 7, 1894, in Boone Township, Wright County, Iowa, the daughter of William and Anna Dey Paskin.

She attended Boone Township school No. 8, and the Renwick Independent High School. She attended Teachers College at Cedar Falls, Iowa, and returned to Boone No. 8 again to teach. She later taught at Williamsburg, Iowa.

Ethel was united in marriage to John B. Sheets on March 10, 1916, at Clarion. Mr. and Mrs. Sheets were part of the farming community of Goldfield and also of Le Roy, Minnesota. They returned to the Goldfield community in 1960.

In failing health for some time, she entered the Clarion Community Hospital on Friday, May 19, passed away on Sunday, May 21 at the age of 78 years, 4 months and 14 days.

She is survived by her husband, 3 sons, Merle, Raymond of Goldfield and John, Jr. of Woolstock; three daughters, Alice, Mrs. Wayne Waddell, LeRoy, Minn., Beulah Williamson, LeRoy, Minn., Lila, Mrs. Vernon Ortman, Washburn, Iowa; two brothers, William and Virgil Paskin of Goldfield; two sisters, Mrs. Adolph Carlson, Kanawha, and Mrs. Sam Douglas, Clarion. Nineteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Mrs. Sheets was a member of the Baptist Women's Society and the American Legion Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by a son, Virgil in World War II, two sisters and one brother.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon, May 23 at the Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home, Eagle Grove.

Rev. Ronald Cowles of the Renwick Baptist Church officiated and burial was in the Glenwood Cemetery at Goldfield.

John Sheet’s mother, Mrs. John Sheets of Goldfield died early Sunday morning. Funeral services were held at Eagle Grove Tuesday afternoon.
