18 February 1912 ---- 6 April 1998

Wilbur J. Latham, 86, of Fort Dodge died of a heart attack Monday at Trinity Regional Hospital there. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at First Congregational United Church of Christ in Fort Dodge, of which he was a member. Burial, with military rites, will be at North Lawn Cemetery there. Mr. Latham was born in Alexander and had lived in Des Moines before moving to Fort Dodge. He was a retired partner with the Johnson, Erb, Latham, Gibb and Carlson P.C. law firm, a Navy veteran of World War II and a member of Masonic Lodge, Fort Dodge Shrine Club, Za-Ga-Zig Shrine, Webster County Bar Association, American Bar Association and Eagle Grove American Legion.

Surviving are his wife, Mary; a son, W. J. Jr. of Marshalltown; two daughters, Suzanne Thomsen of Stillwater, Minn., and Dorothy Prater of Ames; a brother, Willard of Alexander; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Gunderson Funeral Home in Fort Dodge, where a Masonic service will be held at 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to his church or Shriners Hospitals.
