Funeral services for Lawrence C. Dencklau of Vincent were held Thursday, Nov. 14, 1985, at St. John's Lutheran Church near Vincent, with burial in the Colfax Township Cemetery. Mr. Dencklau died early Tuesday morning, Nov. 12, at the Rotary Ann Home in Eagle Grove after a lengthy illness.

Survivors include his wife Lorena, a brother Raymond E. (Bud) Dencklau of Eagle Grove, a sister Mrs. Edna Dencklau of Tucson, Ariz., and several
nieces and nephews.

Born Dec. 14, 1908, in Colfax Township of Webster County to Julia and Emil Dencklau, he attended country school, and in 1936 married Lorena Mericle. The couple made their home on farms in the Vincent area since that time, and in 1975 Mr. Dencklau retired from farming. He served as fire chief for the Vincent Volunteer Fire Department for 22 years, and was instrumental in starting the volunteer ambulance service in Vincent. He was a member of the Vincent Lions Club and the Vincent Hall Board, as well as a member of the Fort Dodge Bowling Association.

Funeral arrangements were handled by Gunderson Funeral Home in Fort Dodge.
