ADA M. HAWTHORNE
Ada M. Hawthorne, the daughter of James R. and Sarilda Smith Hawthorne, was born on Sept. 11, 1903 near Goldfield, Iowa. She grew up on the farm in the Goldfield-Renwick area and received her education in the rural schools. She was never married. She lived in the family home in the Goldfield-Renwick area most of her life. For the past five years, she made her home with Mary Bennett in Goldfield.

She was a member of the Park Church of Christ in Goldfield. She died Monday afternoon, Nov. 11, 1985, at the Trinity Regional Hospital in Fort Dodge at the age of 82 years and two months. She is survived by several nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant sister, two brothers, Elize and Everett Hawthorne; several sisters, Delia Beer, Daisey Hazelwood, Ethel Grove, Stella Crump, and Hazel Herbster.

Funeral services for Ada M. Hawthorne, 82, of Goldfield, were held Thursday, Nov. 14, 1985 at 1 p.m. at the Park Church of Christ in Goldfield. David Nissen, church pastor officiated and burial was in the family lot at the Elmwood Cemetery near Renwick. Visitation was held on Wednesday at the Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home in Eagle Grove.
