Mrs. Verne Betts, 41, the former Vivian Hossman of Eagle Grove, daughter of Mrs. Roy Hossman, died Sunday at Lakewood, Fla., of cancer. She had major surgery last April and became suddenly seriously ill last weekend. She is survived by her mother her husband and two children, Valeria, 12, and Verne, 10, two sisters, Mrs. E. E. Nielsen and Mrs. Douglas Kramer of Iowa Falls, two brothers Roger of Tucson, Ariz., and Darrell of Eagle Grove. Mrs. Hossman is staying in Iowa Falls with the children of her daughters while they are in Lakewood for the funeral. Mrs. Betts was graduated from Eagle Grove high school in 1941.
