Death of Mrs. A. Bechtel

Mrs. A. Bechtel died at the home her daughter, Mrs. A. P. Johnson, Thursday morning at 8:45, of old age. Mrs. Bechtel was over eighty years old, and had lived a long life of usefulness and good. The funeral arrangements had not been completed as we go to press, but will be given later.

The death of Mrs. A. Bechtel occurred Thursday morning, at 8:45 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. A. P. Johnson. Mrs. Bechtel was born in Germany, in the famous kingdom of Wurtemberg, in the year 1829, March 18. Her maiden name was Fredericka Stecher. Moving from Germany to this country her parents settled near Pittsburg, Penn. She was joined in marriage to A. Bechtel at Pittsburg, August 15, 1852.

Mr. and Mrs. Bechtel moved to Iowa soon after they were married, and they have lived in this state ever since. They celebrated their golden wedding two years ago. The deceased leaves besides her husband, a sister, Mrs. M. Mohr, of Dubuque, two children, H. A. Bechtel, of Des Moines and Mrs. A. P. Johnson, of this city who mourn her departure.

The funeral was held at the residence of Mrs. A. P. Johnson, Saturday at 2 p. m., and interment was made in the Rose Hill cemetery.
