Milo Hopkins To Be Buried Here
Funeral services for Milo Hopkins, a former Eagle Grove resident, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Masonic service will be at 8 p.m. Friday at the Funeral Home. Mr. Hopkins died in California. He was a brother of the late Mrs. Frank Whitney of Eagle Grove.

Milo Henry Hopkins was born October 26, 1882, at Eagle Grove, Iowa, the son of Daniel H. and Sarah Alice Cooper Hopkins. He received his education in the Eagle Grove schools. In 1910, on September 27, he was united in marriage to Ida White of Clarion at Clarion. The couple then farmed near Eagle Grove until 1920, when they moved to a farm near West Concord, Minnesota.

Mr. Hopkins died on September 24 at Industry, California after a long illness. At the time of his death he had attained the age of 83 years, 10 months, and 27 days.

Mr. and Mrs. Hopkins had been blessed with 10 children, five of whom survive. They are: Earl Hopkins, West Concord, Minn.; Charles Hopkins, Rochester, Minn.; Helen (Mrs. Lyman Stucky, Duarte, Calif.; Valva, (Mrs. Gordon Hollis) Azusa, Calif,; Daisy (Mrs. Arthur Norris) Temple City, Calif.; 14 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. His wife, Ida, survives as does one brother, Charles Arthur Hopkins of Mantorville, Minn, and a half sister in Oregon.

He was preceded in death by 4 children in infancy and a son, Robert Hopkins, who was killed in the Korean War in 1950. Mr. Hopkins was a member of
Bower Lodge No 464 AF & AM of Eagle Grove.

Masonic services were held at the Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home at 8:00 p.m., Friday, September 27. Funeral services were held on Saturday, September 28, at 2:00 p.m. at the Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry Saltzman of the Church of Christ of Fairbault, Minnesota officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery at Eagle Grove, Iowa.
