June 14,1896 --- March 22, 1988

Hazel O. Lage, was born June 14, 1896 at Newport, Ohio, the daughter of John and Lucy Burns Sauers and came to Iowa at the age of seven. She was married to J. H. (Herman) Lage May 16, 1940 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. They lived in Eagle Grove until 1953 when they moved to Swaledale and then to Latimer. In 1973, they entered the Hampton Nursing Home and Mr. Lage died there in 1973.

Hazel O. Lage, died at the Hampton Nursing Home, Tuesday, March 22, 1988 at the age of 91.

Mrs. Lage was a member of the Immanuel United Church of Christ and had formerly been active in the Methodist Church at Latimer.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother, two sisters, two step-sons, and one stepdaughter.

Mrs. Lage is survived by ten stepchildren, Max Lage, Sheffield; Jesse Lage, Marshalltown; Earl Lage, Meservey, Kenneth Lage, Downers Grove, Ill.; Howard Lage, Rancho Cordo, Calif.; Leland Lage, Mesa, Ariz.; Mrs. Karl (Maude) Guldberg, Coulter; Mrs. Vianthia Dryer [Dreyer], Iowa Falls; Mrs. Emzy (Louise) Wheeler, Sacramento, Calif.; and Mrs. Luella Givens, Titonka; several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces.

Funeral services were held from Immanuel United Church of Christ in Latimer Friday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. Donald Ellerman officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery at Eagle Grove. The Willim Funeral Home of Latimer was in charge of the arrangements.
